Brittle Transition Temperature of Q690E High Strength Steel

Series impact tests were carried out to measure the series impact work at temperature between-80～10℃ done to a high strength steel of Q690E,thus giving a brittle transition-temperature curve.The ductile-brittle transition temperature(DBTT) of the steel samples was determined according to the integrated energy consumption,expansion values and fracture morphology.Microstructure observation with light microscopy(OM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) further proved the brittle transition temperature range of the steel.The influencing factor of the brittle transition temperature were analyzed.
