Erbium-doped fiber laser with stable polarization state

A novel Sigma cavity fiber laser being different from conventional ring cavity was proposed,in which the cheaper non-polarization maintaining erbium-doped fiber was used as gain medium.The polarization properties of the fiber laser are investigated by Jones matrix method.Simulation results show that the Sigma cavity fiber laser has more stable polarization state than the conventional one in ring cavity.
