Políticas públicas para los niños indígenas en Brasil y Colombia

2019
The right of the Indian goes beyond the right to land traditionally occupied to the extent that public policies are extended to community infrastructure. The objective of this paper is to analyze public policies for Brazilian and Colombian indigenous children. More specifically, public policies are analyzed in two indigenous communities: Umariacu I and II (Brazil) and Patio de Ciencia Dulce Muina-Muriu (Colombia). In addition to the state actions, social demands directed to the children of these communities are also known. It is concluded that although an effort has been made in the two countries, it is important to continue developing and implementing policies for indigenous children, in which not only their characteristics and customs are taken into account, but also their opinions and needs. Without it, it will not be possible to break the centuries of inequality in which they have lived.
