Hundreds of milliwatts super-continuum generation in all-fiber laser

2012
This paper reports an all-fiber super-continuum (SC) laser source with the output of 307mw in average power, bandwidth spanning at 500nm∼1700nm and flatness below 15dB. The SC is generated in PCF (photonic crystal fiber) which is pumped by a mode-locked picoseconds fiber laser, while taking SESAM (semiconductor saturable absorber mirror) as mode-locked device and FBG (fiber bragg grating) as cavity mirror to compose the resonator. Through optimizing the cavity structure, an ultra-short pulse with high peak power is achieved. And then it is coupled into PCF to lead to the super-continuum because of a series of nonlinear effects.
