Perfil e hábitos alimentares de acadêmicos ingressantes do curso de Nutrição de uma Universidade do sul do Brasil

Introducao e Objetivo: O ingresso na universidade costuma ser acompanhado de mudancas no estilo de vida, advindas das adaptacoes ao novo ambiente. O objetivo do estudo, foi descrever o perfil e habitos alimentares de academicos ingressantes do curso de Nutricao de uma universidade do Sul do Brasil. Metodos: Estudo transversal, descritivo, realizado com alunos ingressantes do primeiro semestre do curso de Nutricao da Universidade Federal de Pelotas. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de um questionario auto aplicado sobre dados sociodemograficos, perfil e habitos alimentares. Resultados: Da amostra, 85% eram mulheres, com media de idade de 20 anos sendo 75% de cor branca. Quanto ao estilo de vida, 55% nao realizavam atividade fisica, 94,7% nao fumavam e 75% ingeriam bebidas alcoolicas eventualmente. Quanto aos habitos alimentares, 45% consumiam hortalicas e 40% consumiam frutas 1 a 2 vezes ao dia, 35% relataram consumir 1 a 3 vezes na semana bolachas recheadas, cerca de 85% consumiam pizza de 1 a 3 vezes ao mes e 55% consumiam frituras de 1 a 3 vezes ao mes. Discussao: Estudos mostram que jovens universitarios nao possuem bons habitos alimentares e de vida. Conclusao: Desde que o aluno ingressa no curso de nutricao o mesmo nao deve dedicar-se somente as teorias, mas sim aplicar em si mesmo os conhecimentos ja adquiridos de nutricao, alimentos e estilo de vida saudavel, com isso servindo de exemplo para a sociedade. ABSTRACT Profile and eating habits of undergraduate students of the nutrition course of a university of southern Brazil Introduction and Objective: Admission to university is often accompanied by changes in lifestyle, resulting from adaptations to the new environment. This study aimed to describe the profile and eating habits of incoming students of the Nutrition course. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out with incoming students from the first semester of the Nutrition course of the Federal University of Pelotas. The data collection was performed through a self-administered questionnaire, addressing socio-demographic data, profile and eating. Results: Of the sample, 85% were women, with a mean age of 20 years and 75% were white. Regarding lifestyle, 45% performed physical activity, 94.7% did not smoke, 75% would drink alcoholic beverages eventually. As for dietary habits, 40% consume vegetables and fruits 1 to 2 times a day, as for the consumption of caloric foods, 35% reported consuming 1 to 3 times a week of stuffed wafers, about 85% consumed pizza from 1 to 3, and 55% consumed frying 1 to 3 times a month. Discussion: Studies show that young university students do not have good eating and living habits. Conclusion: During the course of nutrition, there should not only be theories, but actions that encourage students to apply not only their nutrition, food and lifestyle knowledge to their patients, but to themselves, with the goal of improving their Habits of life in order to acquire knowledge to be disclosed to society in the future.
