Position Sensorless Control for Triple Three-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Extended Electromotive Force Model

Triple Three-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is one of Multiphase Motors, which is strongly expected to be applied to many fields. Triple Three-phase Synchronous Motor drive systems, however, require position sensors whose risk, costs, and installation spaces are concerned. Therefore, position sensorless control for Triple Three-phase Motors is expected. This paper presents the EEMF model for the considered motors and verify its effectiveness through the simulation and the experiment.
