Water-temperatures in reservoirs
1937
Many investigations of water-temperatures at different depths in reservoirs have been made during the last 50 years, particularly in connection with the design of storage-works for municipal water-supply. Hamilton Smith, Jr., published a brief article on the subject in 1884, and Desmond Fitzgerald published a more lengthy article in 1895. Since that time several comprehensive papers on deep-water temperatures have been recorded in scientific literature. The bibliography appended hereto lists some of the more important contributions.
