Creativity and interdisciplinarity in teaching practice

2010
Presented here are the results of the evaluation of the programme for in-service teacher training: How to Think Differently and Inter disciplinarity-stimulating creativity in thematic teaching practice by play and students' research. The programme arose from the encouraging experiences gained by long-term experimental longitudinal research of the teaching practices in junior classes. Teacher novices were trained to retest and evaluate the experimental solutions gathered from 17 schools in Serbia. The obtained results of the retest showed that, according to the responders' observations, the students' researching and interdisciplinary thematic approach stimulate the development of their creative behavior. The stages of the development, motivation, divergent thinking and research practice still present a challenge. Attitude changes, a sense of success and higher teachers' and students' motivation are the most pronounced results. A critical review of the results suggests a further direction of in-service teacher training.
