INFLUENCE OF NIOBIUM ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF PM HIGH VANADIUM COLD-WORK TOOL STEEL AHPV10

Powder Metallurgy high vanadium cold-work tool steel AHPV10 and AHPV9Nb2 were produced by hot isostatic pressing of nitrogen atomized powder particles.Iron and MC carbides were identified in annealed AHPV10 and AHPV9Nb2 by XRD analysis.Result shows influence of Niobium on refining the carbides of high vanadium cold-work tool steel.With the similar hardness differences.The bending strength of AHPV9Nb2 is much higher than AHPV10,after thermal treatment of austenitisation at 1120℃ and tempering at different temperature.
