Potential applications of carbonic products generated by biomass conversion

2017
The paper presents the results of an experimental research conducted to investigate the valorization potential of the pyrolysis solid product and to establish the correlation between thermochemical processes parameters and its characteristics. Pyrolysis experiments were conducted using a horizontal tubular batch reactor. The parameters of the thermochemical processes varied greatly function of the pyrolysis solid product final use: fuel for energy production/carbon rich product for soil decontamination. The study resumed to multiple chemical and laboratory analyses: gravimetric analysis, Soxhlet and rotary evaporator extraction, pyrolysis experiments performed to a laboratory scale batch reactor. The experimental results showed that pyrolysis is an efficient process offering great opportunities to generate viable products with different use and important impact in many sectors.
