Fabrication of BiFeO3 nanostructures and their visible light photocatalytic degradation and water splitting properties

We have fabricated bismuth ferrite (BFO) nano and micro structures by electrospinning and sol-gel methods. The obtained morphology of BFO throughelectrospinning and sol-gel method was found to be well aligned rod like nanostructures and microspheres, respectively. The synthesized nanostructures were analyzed for their structural and morphological characteristics by XRD and FE-SEM techniques. Further, their photocatalytic activity was tested under natural sunlight and water splitting ability of the synthesized nano/micro structures was studied by electrochemical method.We have fabricated bismuth ferrite (BFO) nano and micro structures by electrospinning and sol-gel methods.
