GENDER GAP IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DEVELOPMENT IN COASTAL RURAL

The condition of the Human Development Index (HDI) and the Gender Development Index (GDI) in Indonesia as a whole shows an increase. However, there is still a gender gap. HDI and GDI analysis is needed to evaluate gender gaps. This study aims to 1) analyze the differences in HDI in provinces with coastal ownership; 2) analysis of the factor that influence on HDI; 3) analysis of the differences between the HDI of women and men; 4) analyze the dominant factors affecting HDI. The results showed that there was a difference between the HDI in provinces with coastal villages 200. HDI of provinces that had coastal villages 200. Factors affecting HDI were life expectancy, length of school rate, expected length of school and purchasing power parity. There are differences in the HDI of women and men. The most dominant factor affecting HDI is expected length of school. The conclusion of this research is that there is still a gender gap as reflected in the differences in provincial HDI based on coastal villages and the HDI of women and men, the factors that influence HDI are life expectancy, length of school rate, expected length of school, number of coastal villages and purchasing power parity between men and women. To reduce the gender gap by increasing the GDI in coastal rural-based areas. It can be done by increasing the factors that make up the HDI for women at least equal to or higher than men.
