Attitudes And Behavior Survey of AIDS Prevention Knowledge among Medical Staff in Weifang City

[Objective]To understand the cognitive status of AIDS among medical staff, and provide evidence for AIDS prevention training.[Methods]Random questionnaire survey was adopted to investigate 1116 medical workers in hospitals of different levels in urban Weifang.[Results]Professional medical staff had a clear understanding of Main mode of HIV transmission, non-HIV transmission mode and other general issues, but not enough in depth and comprehensive. They did not discriminate AIDS patients or the HIV infectors, but were afraid of them, that might affect the normal medical services. AIDS prevention knowledge level and attitude of medical staff in different hospital or different departments of same hospital were different. [Conclusion]The awareness of AIDS among medical staff needs to be further improved. The targeted training should be implemented in batches, according to professional features, to correct their attitude towards AIDS patients or the HIV infectors.
