A two-side cooperative interception guidance law for active air defense with a relative time-to-go deviation

Abstract In this paper, we propose a novel nonlinear cooperative interception guidance law for the target and the defender in a target-defender-chaser scenario. In particular, the cooperative guidance problem is converted to a two-input-two-output control problem with terminal constraints and system uncertainties. More specifically, two terminal constraints are constructed with the purpose to regulate the relative line-of-sight error and time-to-go deviation between the target and the defender terms. Accordingly, guidance commands for the target and the defender under a two-way cooperative strategy can be developed without knowledge of the interception guidance laws adopted by the chaser in prior. Simulations are conducted with both linear and nonlinear interception guidance laws adopted by the chaser to demonstrate the robustness and precision of the proposed cooperative guidance law.
