HPV/p16 Overexpression in Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the Parotid Gland:Non-Squamous Cell Malignancies of the Head and Neck (thyroid, skin cancers, salivary gland and sinus cancers)

2014
Conclusions: In this series we demonstrate the effectiveness of Hypofractionated radiation therapy, thereby limiting total treatment time and ontreatment toxicity. Patients completed treatment with few delays and started chemotherapy earlier. Durable local control and acceptable treatment toxicities were seen. Local control continued to be related to the degree of surgical debulking and should be considered even in the presence of systemic disease. Despite our best attempts with tri-modality treatment, most patients developed metastatic disease (88%) underlining the need for future directions in chemotherapy. Author Disclosure: M.J.
