Estruturas semânticas no léxico do futebol : Léxico : Estudos lexicológicos e lexicográficos

1996
This study proposes to show which mechanisms are responsible for the semantic organization of the soccer lexicon. It is based on structuralist semantic theory (Greimas, Pottier). The area of work is delimited and the choice falls on the lexical domain as the core FIELD-GAME-TEAM. The typical concepts of the soccer language are also discussed (space-position-function). The data leads to the identification and description of four cohesive lexical processes. The most significant process is the specific spatiality, not only for mobilizing the majority of the lexical unities, but also for generating synaesthesias and connotations - the second most important lexical process.
