ON SUPERVISORY CONTROL OF A CLASS OF DISCRETE EVENT SYSTEMS

Abstract In this paper we develop a method in modeling concurrent execution of manufacturing assembly processes in flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). We target the system that can be modeled by a class of nets, called G-system. It is supervised to have the non-blocking property of the behavior. Our approach is to make unmarked siphons satisfy cs-property when the elementary ones are properly supervised, the advantage of the novel method is that a much smaller number of supervisory monitors and arcs are added and unnecessary iterative processes are avoided.
