Anterior Mediastinal Mass

2016
Anesthesia for biopsy or excision of an anterior mediastinal mass (AMM) has the potential for life-threatening or fatal events as a result of airway occlusion, tamponade, pulmonary outflow obstruction, and/or loss of venous return. General anesthesia may convert such mass effects from subcritical to critical.
