Corona Characteristics and Optimizing of 1000 kV UHVAC Substation Fittings

The design of fittings in the 1000 kV UHVAC substation becomes more difficult and complex,because of the higher operating voltage and interaction of the electric field nearby.In order to make substation fittings used in the UHVAC demonstration project have better electrical performance,the simulating models were established according to the first UHVAC test base of SGCC,then the surface electric field of the primary substation fittings was calculated,finally,the optimized fittings was obtained.Furthermore,the corona tests for the optimized fittings of different configuration with scientific and objective methods were carried out.Through these research results,the paper indicated further optimizing views,and the ultimate designed fittings could meet the requirement of the UHVAC demonstration project well.
