Clinical tesearch on the treatment for acute gouty arthritis with the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine

Objective To observe the curative effect of the treatment for acute gouty arthritis with the combination of Chinese traditional and Western Medicine.Methods 136 patients were randomly divided into two groups.The control group treated only with Nimesulide and Xinhuang Pian orally and the treatment group treated with the Chinese medicinal herbs named QiHuang-HuangLian paste external application,in addition to the treatment with Nimesulide and Xinhuang Pian orally.Both the groups were treated for seven days.After each period of treatment,the curative effects and the time demanded alleviating symptom of both groups are judged and compared.Results Of the 60 cases in the contrast group,the treatment is 85.00% efficacious;Of the 76 cases in the treatment group,the treatment is 97.37% efficacious.The total effective rate in the treatment group was obviously higher than that in the control group(P0.01).In the treatment group,the local symptom of 21.05% patients alleviated in one day and the local symptom of 72.37% patients alleviated in three days;In contrast,in the control group,they are 11.67% and 43.33%, separately.Conclusion QiHuang-HuangLian paste external application can significantly relieve the clinical symptom and shorten course of diseases of acute gouty arthritis.The treatment for acute gouty arthritis with the combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine has markedly advantages and has great value of being popularized clinically.
