A Review of the Mechanical Properties of Roselle Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Hybrid Composites
2021
Abstract Recently, many researchers have shifted to the consumption of natural fibers in their research because it was economically ideal to produce good quality fiber-reinforced polymer composites for furniture, building, structural, and other needs. Roselle fiber is a natural fiber that is easy to obtain, and it is a concern for researchers to study its ability as a reinforcement material in polymer composites. It has a unique place in composite systems because it has strong tensile properties for kenaf, jute, and moderates on impact strength compared with other natural fibers. In fact, the potential combination of roselle and other fibers demonstrates its excellent mechanical properties on polymer hybrid composites. Therefore, this research paper focuses on the mechanical properties (tensile, flexural, and impact testing) of roselle hybrid composites to provide the perfect literature source for further research.
