RESUMO Neste estudo inicial tratamos as vias interiores que irrigavam o Vale do Paraiba cafeeiro-escravista. Lancamos foco especial sobre fracao das querelas que permearam as obras de melhoria da Estrada do Comercio no momento de ampliacao da cultura cafeeiro-escravista. Verificamos algumas relacoes entre espacializacao e escolhas tecnicas.   ABSTRACT In this initial study, we have dealt with the inland roads that connected the coffee-slave Vale do Paraiba. We have focused especially on the fraction of the disputes that permeated the improvement works of the Estrada do Comercio at the time of the expansion of the coffee-slave culture. We have assessed some relations between spatialization and technical choices.
