ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK ROFI (REGION OF FRESHWATER INFLUENCE) DI PERAIRAN MUARA SUNGAI MUSI SUMATERA SELATAN
2020
Musi river estuary is an estury area that receives fresh water from upstream of the river and also seawater from Bangka Starit waters. During the rainy season the area receives more fresh water input. The location closest to the river mouth is called ROFI (Region Of Freshwater Influence). Rofi is an area between sea and river mouth exposure which can reflect a very interesting phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of ROFI in Musi River estuary and analyze the effect of freshwater input on ROFI in Musi River estuary. This research was conducted in November 2018 in the Musi River. Data retrieval in this study was divided into two namely CTD (Conductivity Temperture and Depth) dat retrieval and retrieval of current data. Analysis of the data used in this study are freshwater fraction, freshwater transport volume. At high tide conditions the current speed in these waters reaches 0,65 m/s while the minimum current speed is 0,051 m/s. Whereas at the condition of low tide the maximum current speed is 0,21 m/s and the minumum current speed is 0,086 m/s. Salinity values at high tide ranged from 0,2 psu – 29,8 psu and temperature values ranged from 280 C – 30,40 C. Whereas during low tide the salinity values ranged from 0,2 psu – 29,5 psu and the temperature values ranged from 280 C- 30,50 C. The amaunt of freshwater fraction in the mouth of the Musi River estuary area at low tide conditions is 0,763 % with freshwater transport volume bargaining is 31,13 m3s-1. Whereas at the high tide conditions the freshwater fraction in the Musi River estuary area is 0,55 % with freshwater transport volume of 9,98 m3s-1.
