Isothermal section at 850 °C of the Ti–Dy–Al system in the Ti–TiAl–DyAl2–Dy region

Abstract Phase equilibria in the Ti–Dy–Al system in the Ti–TiAl–DyAl 2 –Dy region at 850 °C were studied by the methods of X-ray diffraction, SEM and electron microprobe. The isothermal section at this temperature was constructed. The ternary compounds in the studied region were not found. The isothermal section at 850 °C is characterized by the three-phase regions α l  + (αDy) + (Dy 2 Al), α l  + α 2  + (Dy 2 Al), α 2  + (Dy 2 Al) + (Dy 3 Al 2 ), α 2  + (Dy 3 Al 2 ) + (αDyAl 2 ), (DyAl) + (αDyAl 2 ) + (Dy 3 Al 2 ) and α 2  + (αDyAl 2 ) + γ and appropriate two-phase areas.
