Spectra and decay properties of nuclei near /sup 146/Gd

The excitation spectra, electromagnetic-transition probabilities, and ..cap alpha..-decay widths in even-even and odd-odd nuclei near the core nuclide have been investigated on the basis of the concept of doubly magic properties of the /sup 146/Gd nucleus. The calculations indicate a similarity of the quantities considered with those in the region of lead.
