Porting smart-M3 platform to MeeGo operation system

Smart-M3 is an open source platform for development and deployment of smart spaces application. The Smart Spaces is nowadays one of the most rapidly developing technologies with huge potential for the service market. It can be characterized by three main ideas: smart application should be pro-active, seamlessly collect and store all available information about the user to guaranty easy access to all user data at any time from any place, and smart application should operate on various different devices, insuring their collaborative work in order to provide best value to the user. One of the direct consequences of the last aspect is that Smart Space solutions and Smart-M3 platform in particular should cover as many operation systems as possible. The main goal of this project was to investigate the programming interfaces and architecture of the Smart-M3 platform, design and implement adaptation of the Smart-M3 platform for MeeGo operating system. The paper discusses our experience on fulfillment of this mission and development client software packages to port Smart-M3 platform on MeeGo OS.
