Characteristics of the CO2 Exchange of Wheat Ears

This contribution tries to answer some questions on the characteristics of ear photosynthesis: Do the single parts of the ear (glumes, paleae, and lemmas) differ in structure and gas exchange characteristics from each other or not? Do they stand in competition with each other for light and/or CO2? Are they adapted to their specific light conditions?
