A new type of hyperplastic anterior choroidal artery

Abstract Hyperplastic anomaly of the anterior choroidal artery (hyperplastic AchA) and posterior communicating artery of duplicate origin (duplicated Pcom) are rare vessel anomalies. With some literature review, we here report three cases of hyperplastic AchA, one of which was considered a new type of hyperplastic AchA. This case was not categorized into Takahashi classification.
