Not all students like candy hearts

2005
Chocolates galore, roses and carnations that give off the smell of love, little candy hearts that have sweet messages and jewelry that makes the eyes sparkle in delight. Yes, these are nice gestures to share with loved ones on Valentine’s Day. However, some students are only feeling pain from Cupid’s arrow. According to many, Valentine’s Day is a made-up holiday that only brings Hallmark more profits. Unfortunately, junior Danielle Rossano’s boyfriend is an avid believer that gifts are not necessary. “My current boyfriend actually broke up with me right before Valentine’s Day and we got back together after Valentine’s Day was over,” she said. “I’m convinced that he broke up with me so he didn’t have to get me a present.” When one student tried to be upbeat and turn Valentine’s Day into a fun game she got more than she bargained for.
