Spontaneous Emission ß-factors in Photonic Crystal Waveguides: Towards Single-Mode LED

We theoretically study light emission in photonic crystal waveguides and show that remarkably large spontaneous emission rates into the fundamental guided mode (beta factor >95%) can be obtained over a 40-nm-large spectral interval at 950nm.
