Axilläre Lymphknotenmetastase eines Ovarialkarzinoms 15 Jahre nach Primäroperation

1997
We report on the rare case of an axillary lymph node metastasis of an ovarian cancer 15 years after primary operation. To our knowledge this is one of the few cases without simultaneous metastatic disease of the breast. Therefore, it is supposed that direct metastatic spread from the peritoneal cavity to axillary lymph nodes is possible. Psammomatous calcification patterns are specific for ovarian carcinoma, and, in this case, led to correct radiological diagnosis preoperatively.
