Glycolysis and Amino Acid Incorporation in IL-3-Dependent Cell Lines

1990
Interleukin 3 (IL-3) has been shown to maintain survival and to stimulate proliferation of hematopoietic precursor cells both in vitro and in vivo. Its mechanism of action includes binding to specific receptors [1] and propagation of the mitogenic signal into the cell, resulting in an activation of cellular metabolism. In order to understand whether there is a specificity of intracellular effects of different cytokines, the initial cellular responses have to be defined.
