Morphometric Evaluation of Populations of Neuronal Profiles in the Central Nervous System

The present paper will review some developments in the quantitation of populations of neuronal profiles (cell bodies, dendrites and nerve terminals). Some general tools will be introduced as a background for specific neurobiological applications. The theoretical bases for each procedure will be illustrated.
