Spatial-temporal Evolution of Urban Morphology and Land-use Patterns in Lianyungang

2010
The fractal theory and ArcGIS soft are employed to study the characteristics of evolution of urban morphology and structure in the City of Lianyungang. The results show that the fractal characteristics of urban morphology and structure are clear and the dimension inclusion theory is confirmed. From the viewpoint of spatial-temporal change, the fractal dimension of the whole urban morphology tends to be increasing, and the causes for such a trend can be attributed to the development of urban economy, the process of urbanization and city planning. Moreover,a few questions in land structure have also been discovered, including the centralized distribution of green land and the scattering of industrial land.
