Preoperative Antidepressant Use: Prolonged Intubation and Reintubation after Cardiac Surgery

METHODS: All (2,092) patients undergoing urgent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in our STS Database from 2002-2013 were included, along with 29 variables, including demographics, comorbidities, operating room duration,and postoperative complications. Primary outcomes were PI (>24 hours), RI, and length of ICU stay. Univariate analysis was conducted with chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests. Independent predictors were analyzed via multivariable logistic regression.
