Improved node dynamic cooperation with network lifetime optimization for underwater sensor networks

2016
The node dynamic cooperation protocols in our previous work have been approved beneficial for failed data packets retransmission in the underwater data collection sensor networks, which dynamically select the normal nodes to relay overheard data according to channel conditions. However, when taken channel condition as selection metric, some nodes with good channel could be overly served as relays. To maximum lifetime of the whole network, we proposed an improved node cooperation protocol which employs both residual energy and overheard condition for relay selection. The simulation results have shown its lifetime performance improvement compared to the traditional protocols.
