Low frequency Radar imaging from ramp response using the level-set method

2012
Low frequency Radar imaging can be used to reconstruct the global shape of targets using the ramp response technique, which only needs no more than 3 observing angles. We have developed a new algorithm permitting to generate promising shapes of targets for mutually orthogonal directions, but giving distorted results otherwise. To solve this ill-posed inverse problem, an iterative optimization is required. Most of iterative methods require a priori assumption of the object's geometry. However, the level set method, which can completely handle the topology change in an implicit and automatic way during the iteration, is well adapted to our problem.
