Microwave Hydrothemal Synthesis and Characterization of SnO_2 nanocolumnar arrays

SnO2 nanocolumnar arrays were synthesized on indium-doped tin oxide(ITO) glass substrates by microwave hydrothermal method.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD)results show that the SnO2 nanocolumnar arrays are about 400 nm thick,which are composed of irregular columnar with the diameter about 100 nm.Ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection spectrum displays the band gap of SnO2 nanocolumnar arrays was 3.25 eV.Photoluminescence spectrum shows three emissions at 390 nm,405nm and 425nm respectively.
