Advanced Practice Providers Role in Rural Dermatology

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants are vastly expanding medical and dermatologic services in rural medicine. Specifically, in rural dermatology, physicians face a multitude of obstacles. There are simply too few dermatologists in rural areas to see the number of patients requiring their care. Well-trained, experienced APPs are capable of aiding dermatologists to help fill this void.
