Analysis of High‐Purity Indium by Spark Source Mass Spectrometry

2010
High purity indium samples were analysed by spark source mass spectrometry, using electrical and photoplate detection. Cooling of the samples was applied to obtain stable sparking conditions. For the calibration of the differences in elemental sensitivity, standard samples were prepared in which 9 impurities were determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. In this manner accuracies of less than 40% were obtained for selected elements. About 40 elements could be determined with detection limits of 10 to 30 ppb.
