1986 Robert E. Horton Medal to Abel Wolman

Abel Wolman was born in Baltimore in 1892. He attended public schools and entered the Johns Hopkins University. A premed major, he graduated in 1913. As one of his brothers was already a doctor, the family decided that the opening of a new engineering school at Johns Hopkins provided a new opportunity.
