Knowledge Management Initiatives of Polytechnic Colleges in Puducherry Region

PURPOSE: The purpose of this paper is to through light on changes in technical education system, with particular reference to the polytechnic colleges in India, and to find out the progress with respective knowledge management in technical education. METHODOLOGY: For this study a questionnaire was designed based on a knowledge management conceptual frame work administered to a random sample of thirty faculty members of nine polytechnic colleges in Puducherry region. FINDINGS: This paper provides evidence to the methods of knowledge management in the polytechnic colleges and it's important. ORIGINALITY: The originality of the paper lies in its Indian context and the lack of research into knowledge management in the field of education in general.
