John Michael Dawson

John Michael Dawson was born in Rochdale. He won an entrance scholarship to Manchester Grammar School and a Tancred scholarship in physic to study medicine at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. He completed his undergraduate training in London. No doubt stimulated by winning a cardiology prize at Guy’s, he decided initially to pursue a career in that specialty.
