High-energy collision-induced dissociation with Fourier transform mass spectrometry

1983
Collision-induced dissociation with Fourier transform mass spectrometrometry (CID-FTMS) and (4 to 8 keV) beam type CID is used to study the fundamental collision parameters of polyatomic systems. The investigations are conducted over the range of energies from 100 eV to 8 keV. Control of the selected ion reaction time and translational energy and of the time of ion acceleration allows enormous versatility. Experimental conditions were controlled to assure that only single collisions occurred. 14 references, 1 figure, 1 table.
