Study on the Rhythm of Insect Community in Suction Trapping

We used sub-time sampling method to investigate insect community, and sequential dynamics of species richness and insect number to study the rhythm of different insect groups in suction trapping.All captured insects belong to 47 species,31 families of 7 orders.The results indicated that different insect groups showed obvious activity rhythm during the whole day and fewaphids were captured by suction trapping at night time.We suggested that the scientific run time of suction trapping should be from06:00(dawn)to 18:00(dusk).We discussed the monitoring potentiality of suction trapping on smaller flight insects and the application prospect of suction trapping in forecasting insect pests.
