Analysis of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) multi-temporal series for the production of forest cartography

Abstract This study aims to produce a forest raster cartography, valid for the Italian territory and characterized by a spatial resolution of 10 m, using remote sensing techniques. In detail, Sentinel-2 multispectral images have been used in order to obtain Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) values, useful to distinguish vegetation among all the different other kinds of land cover.
