Improved accuracy in measuring gas and dust concentrations in mine atmospheres
1994
A methodology is presented for optimizing gas and dust concentration measurements in a pit atmosphere by minimizing the overall error due to the error in the method of measurement, the instrumental and random errors, and the representatives error. It is found to be promising to use the attenuation of infrared radiation in appropriate wavelength ranges. The optimum wavelengths are determined for various mine atmosphere composition measurements.
