Hydraulic mold clamping unit

PURPOSE: To enable adjustment of a height of incorporation by allowing a main piston and a pressure column to relatively slide to each other beyond a space rage between connected planes and also enable mutual support engagement and disengagement of the connecting elements of the main piston the pressure column only within the range of each of connecting planes. CONSTITUTION: When a main piston 8 is connected to a pressure column 12 for working, a mechanical contact plane and/or a connecting plane 14, 15 formed, spaced 13 from each other, in the mobile direction of a slidable die plate 5 are important. Between these both planes 14, 15, the main piston 8 and the pressure column 12 are relatively slidable to each other beyond a space range 13. In this case, the pressure column 12 can be engaged with the main piston 8 for supporting or disengaged with the latter only within the range of each of both connecting planes 14, 15. The engagement face and the support face can be engaged for supporting or disengaged with each other by making a multikey-type connecting head 17 rotate relatively with a multikey-type connecting sleeve 16, around a longitudinal axial line which is common for the main piston 8 and the pressure column 12.
