Corrosion behavior of Cu-Zn-Al shape memory alloy in controlled environments

2020
Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) are a peculiar class of materials able to recover their initial shape by a phase solid transformation thermally activated. The research activity is focused on the characterization of corrosion behavior of Cu-Zn-Al SMA. Potentio-dynamic anodic polarization tests and electronic microscopy (SEM-EDS) observations of corroded surfaces have been carried out in order to analyze corrosion resistance to different chemical environments.
