Influencia metálica de un emisario submarino de Punta del Hidalgo, en el norte de Tenerife, Islas Canarias, España

In the first instance, after obtaining 40 water samples from the intertidal pools of Punta del Hidalgo, the possible pollution due to the presence of heavy metals from this area was studied. In this experiment, the water bottles were collected according to the distance with respect to the sewage pipe. For this reason, the transect was divided into 3 zones and compared with a control zone. Specifically, an analysis was made of 11 heavy metals of great importance (Al, B, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Li, Ni, Pb, V and Zn). This procedure served as a tool to identify the differences between metal concentrations for the different selected areas. Finally, the results obtained in the experiment were compared with other studies carried out in different parts of the world, in order to deduce the possible causes of the presence of these heavy metals. In addition, this would be convenient to make sure that the case that concerns us doesn´t have implications that harm the population and that, therefore, the bathing of the same in this area of the island is not suitable
